A farm holiday is a real adventure, especially for children. Fresh air, being close to nature and, of course, cute animals are just a few of the many reasons why a holiday on a farm is worthwhile. There are a few farms in Germany that like to share their everyday life with people who are looking for relaxation. The agency portal “ Landreise.de ” has created a ranking of Germany’s most popular farms in 2022 based on traveler ratings. The winner: The Erster Hof in Bavaria.
Esterer Hof, Bavaria
For the fifth time, the Esterer Hof of the Ober family was voted the most popular holiday farm in the country by “Landreise.de”. In addition to a total of six well-kept holiday apartments and a wide range of leisure activities, the most popular farm in Germany also impresses with its fantastic scenery. From the Esterer Hof you can see the Chiemgau mountains directly. You can even take a 360-degree digital tour on the adventure farm’s website to get an idea of the surroundings.
Boredom is rare on the five-star farm. If you want, you can help with daily stable chores or pay a visit to a few of the many animals. In addition to the classic farm animals such as chickens, cows, pigs, cats and goats, you can also see various small animals such as rabbits. In addition, the Ober family also owns a few horses and ponies, which are regularly used for horseback riding or carriage rides.
For the youngest visitors there is also a 100 square meter indoor play forest, a children’s vehicle park, a playground and a children’s paddling pool. While the youngest family members let off steam, parents can visit the farm café or relax in the farm’s own infrared cabin. If the weather permits, campfire and barbecue evenings are organized in the evenings. The Esterer Hof is also a suitable starting point for day trips and hikes, highlights such as Lake Chiemsee are only ten minutes away by car.

In the off-season, the cheapest, the Blumenwiese holiday apartment, costs 150 euros. In the low season you pay a surcharge of 15 euros per night, for the high season it is 30 euros more per night. The two 5-star holiday apartments “Kräuterstube” and “Kornkammer” are in the next price category, each costing 205 euros per night in the low season, 230 euros in the off-season and 245 euros in the high season.
The most expensive, but also the largest, are the 5-star holiday apartments “Zum Heustadl” and “Am Scheunentor”. A night here costs 225 euros in the low season, 250 euros in the middle season and 265 euros in the high season.
