Blue checkmarks are a great way to show potential customers you’re trustworthy. They’re also a great way to build trust among your followers. In fact, many people use blue checkmarks to signal that they’ve reviewed something. But what happens when someone uses a blue checkmark to promote their own product or service?
That’s exactly what happened here. This sponsored link appears above a list of reviews for Briarcrest Christian School. The blue checkmark indicates the reviewer has verified ownership of the account. However, there’s no indication that the person reviewing the school actually attended the institution.
The problem with this is that it could mislead consumers into thinking that the reviewer has some sort of personal connection to the school. After all, why wouldn’t a consumer assume that the author of a positive review has gone to the same place?
In this case, the owner of the account has already disclosed his affiliation, but he hasn’t done enough to make sure that readers understand his relationship to the school.

Signal Mountain
Chattanooga, Tennessee is known for being one of America’s safest cities. But some residents say that the city isn’t diverse enough and that it’s too conservative.
The suburb of Chattanooga, located just north of Atlanta, Georgia, is home to over 50,000 people. It’s a small town with plenty of charm.
Residents like Tanya Brown love living here because she says the area is quiet and safe. She says that she doesn’t feel threatened walking around her neighborhood alone at night.
But others aren’t so sure. They say that the town lacks diversity and that it’d be better off without it.
One resident named John posted a review on TripAdvisor saying that he felt unsafe while driving around his neighborhood. He wrote, “I live in Signal Mountain, GA and I am very disappointed in my hometown. There is no nightlife, no restaurants, nothing. If you want to go out, you have to drive 20 minutes into downtown Chattanooga.”
Another reviewer named David wrote, “This place is boring. There is nothing to do besides work and go home. You don’t even see many black faces.”
A third reviewer named Michael added, “There is nothing to do here except work and go home. We’re surrounded by mountains, but we have no mountain views. This is a dead end street.”
The Gulch
– A neighborhood in Nashville, TN, rated 4.8/5 stars on Yelp
Nashville, Tennessee is known for many things — great food, music, sports teams, etc. But one thing we don’t hear much about is the “Gulch.” This area of Nashville is located just north of downtown, near the Cumberland River. It’s home to some pretty cool bars, coffee shops, restaurants, and even a brewery.
Lookout Mountain
The Lookout Mountain area is located just outside of Chattanooga, Tennessee. Thompson’s Station
The small town of Thompson’s Station, located about 30 miles southeast of Nashville, is home to just over 2,200 people. But it’s known for something else: it’s one of the few remaining unspoiled areas in Middle Tennessee. In fact, it’s considered one of the best examples of rural America left.
In recent years, however, development has begun to creep into the area. Developers have been able to obtain large tracts of farmland and parkland for residential developments, but the town itself has limited access to water, sewer and electricity. As a result, many commuters are forced to make long drives to work in Spring Hill or Murfreesboro. And while there are plans underway to improve transportation options, the impact on local businesses and residents hasn’t always been positive.
But now, things might change. Last week, the city council voted unanimously to approve a master plan designed to protect the character of the town and ensure future generations continue to enjoy the natural beauty of the area. “We’re very excited,” says Mayor David Bowers. “I think we’ve done a good job of protecting the integrity of our community.”
The plan includes a number of initiatives aimed at preserving the environment, including the construction of a $1 million amphitheater and a $2.5 million outdoor concert venue. It also calls for the creation of a farmers market and a downtown revitalization project.
And though the plan doesn’t include any specific measures to prevent further development, it does call for the establishment of a zoning ordinance that would require developers to pay fees in lieu of property taxes. Those funds could go toward funding infrastructure improvements like roads and sewers.
“This is really a unique opportunity to preserve a piece of history,” says Bowers. “We want to keep it pristine and beautiful.”

Oak Hill
I moved into Oak Hill about six months ago. My husband and I chose Oak Hill over Brentwood because we wanted to live closer to his work. We love our neighborhood. Our house is located near the intersection of Old Hickory Boulevard and Gallatin Pike. If you’re familiar with Nashville, you know where we’re talking about. You’ll find us on the corner of Old Hickory and Gallatin Pike.
We’ve been very happy with our decision to move to Oak Hill. Here’s why:
1. Traffic – I’m not sure how many people actually live in Oak Hill, but there seems to be a lot of traffic coming out of the area. However, most of the traffic is commuters heading toward downtown. So, while it might take longer to get to work, it doesn’t seem like much of a problem.
2. Schools – We had a great school district in Brentwood. But we didn’t want to send our kids to public school anymore. In Oak Hill, we have three different elementary schools within walking distance. And one middle school. All of them are excellent.
3. Cost of Living – While we do pay more for groceries and gas, we save money on everything else. We bought a brand new car less than a month after moving here. We paid $25 per month for insurance. Now, we pay $35 per month. Our mortgage payment went up a little too. But overall, we feel like we saved money.
4. Neighborhood – We love our neighborhood. Everyone is nice and friendly. We walk around the neighborhood every day. We see our friends’ kids playing outside. We run into neighbors at the grocery store. We even met some of our neighbors at church.
5. Location – We’re close to everything. We’re close to shopping centers, restaurants, parks, etc. Plus, we’re close to the interstate.
